Kawasaki ZX-25R To Finally Head To NZ
After initially being announced back in 2020 as a 2021 model and disappearing without a trace, Kawasaki's 250cc inline 4-cylinder ZX-25R is finally heading to Kiwi dealerships.
After the initial shipment had to be canceled and previous orders refunded due to the bikes not meeting NZ certification criteria, Kawasaki NZ today announced the ZX-25R is now headed our way with a retail price of $14,995 plus on roads.
Harking back to the screaming small-capacity supersports of the 90s, the ZX-25R boasts an all-new inline 4-cylinder engine producing 47 PS (34.5kW) and combines a strong low-mid range with high-revving power. Like its forebears, the ZX-25R can scream to more than 17,000rpm which instantly sets the Ninja ZX-25R from the crowd of growling twins.
Set to arrive in the second quarter of the year, Kawasaki NZ has noted the New Zealand ZX-25R is a LAMS-approved Special Edition and comes in 2 different color options – the traditional Lime Green in Kawasaki Racing Team graphics and Metallic Matte Graphite Steel Grey.
The perks of the special edition include a tinted windscreen, and frame sliders. wheel rim tape, a dual-direction quick-shifter, USB socket, and adjustable front suspension.
The 2023 model also comes with a number of improvements over the 2022 model including a 4.3" TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology app along with Circuit Mode which has been added to instrumentation.
