In this week's show, Ray talked us through his insurance win, we have
Yamaha Tenere 700 world raid model in production.
Big news from Yamaha came out over night, with a new Rally-raid or world-raid model Tenere 700 being revealed.
a few months ago at EICMA we saw the Rally Raid prototype being revealed, with twin fuel tanks up front, auxiliary fuel tanks in the tail and a bunch of other changes, but it's now been revealed a variant of this is currently in production.
Some of the new additions we can expect in this new model are as follows
-Twin front mounted fuel tanks with flush mounted filler caps boosting the total fuel load to 23L giving the bike a theoretical range of around 500 kilometers.
-New flat style 2 piece seat. Now 890mm off the ground, the previous seat was also a 2 piece, but the re-design of the fuel tanks and carrying that load lower means the seat and tank can now be flatter and les "bulbus" in front of the rider
-Higher ride height
-More suspension travel front and rear. High spec 43mm KYB forks with 230mm travel and an aluminium piggyback rear shock with 220mm travel
-a 5" Colour TFT display with inbuilt mobile phone connectivity
-3 level ABS
-a taller screen up front and larger wind deflectors.
-Larger pegs/foot rests
-Ohlins adjustable steering damper
-3 piece alloy bash plate
-and a new air-box with forward facing snorkel apparently to decrease debris making its way in to the air-box and filter.
and a few other niggly wee things which we see as neither here nor there.
We note that same old exhaust hanger was retained, good oh... I guess you cant win them all.
